I have been using Adobe's Photoshop for a long time now and have picked up alot of my own techniques for photo retouching and graphic design in that time, but thats not to say im not still learning - because i am!

If you are just starting out in Photoshop and want to try your hand at Photo retouching or graphic design then read on.

First of all you need to get yourself a copy of Adobe Photoshop and if you can afford it grab yourself Adobe Lightroom 2 aswell, especially if you are going to be doing alot of photo editing.

If graphic design is what you are after then I have found an excellent site with 100's of videos that will get you creating amazing Logos and graphics in no time.

The website is called Graphics Champ and it basically has 100's of videos that will help you along your way to becoming a great graphics artist in Adobe Photoshop and you will be well on your way to creating Logos such as this made by myself.

Photoshop CS3 Tutorial: Vignette

I use vignetting in almost all of my photos so I thought I would show you the few simple steps I use to create a Vignette.

First open Photoshop and open a photo.

I chose this one of a football.

Next create a new layer above the original photo layer.

Layer-->New Layer

Your Layers Box should look like this:

Then with a large soft brush and Black as your brush colour, brush all round the edge of your photo.

Then change your Vignette layers opacity to around 75% and the fill to around 60% and you have your finished vignette.

On this image I also added a black border to make the photo stand out a bit more.

Last Minute photoshoot with Claire

I decided to do a last minute photoshoot with my Girlfriend in our back garden.
The sky was overcast and due to it being in the evening, light was disappearing fast.

I used a reflector as a surface to bounce my flash off and I think the results turned out quite well.

Both of these shots were taken while bouncing the flash off of the White side of the reflector, giving a nice diffused light across the face.

As I finish editing some more photos from the shoot I will post them up on hereClaire
